Changes to the private hire regulation are being introduced by TfL from Monday 27 June 2016.
In particular, changes to booking confirmations means all private hire drivers, operators and private hire vehicle license holders operating within London must provide a booking confirmation to a passenger before their journey starts.
The changes are being introduced to raise standards in London’s private hire industry, improving safety and convenience for customers.
Catalina’s Freedom logistics solution already complies to the changes recently announced by TfL and as part of their programme of continuous development Freedom will continue to advance ensuring customers fully comply with future changes before they come into force.
Philip Batten, Account Manager at Catalina said “Since the changes were announced we have been in regular contact with TfL, the LPHCA and our customers. We have sent regular customer bulletins and provided them with clarity on how the changes will impact on them. We have considered every aspect of the changes to the regulation and the recent launch of Freedom Global, our solution for managing agents, will ensure customers comply even if they allocate jobs to sub-contractors”
Philip continued “We have attended a number of meetings over the last few months and are aware of the concerns within the industry, especially around the cost and time frames involved of making changes to ensure compliance. The good news is for our customers its business as usual.”
