Software / App Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a logistics software company as we enter a new phase of growth. We are looking for a developer who can help us grow our success by producing high quality, efficient code as part of a team. Within this role you will be given scope to use your existing programming knowledge to help shape and improve our current solutions, as well as playing a key role in designing and implementing important new projects. The role would suit an app focused developer with experience of iOS and Android, but will have involvement across all areas of the product. In order to be successful in this role, you must have a passion for technology with a willingness to learn new skills and to share your ideas and knowledge across the team.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Producing quality solutions based on user requirement documents
  • Assisting in the production of technical specifications / plans for larger projects
  • Owning and maintaining your own time to complete projects to a deadline
  • Code reviewing other developers work
  • Supporting other members of the team
  • Bug fixing
  • End to end testing of new development and providing clear concise testing instructions to other areas of the business

Requirements:

  • Self-driven and organised individual
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • App development experience
  • Knowledge of iOS and Android
  • Objective C
  • Oracle SQL or similar
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Version control (Git or similar)
  • Visual studio
  • Team player
  • Be able to communicate problems / solutions effectively in a non-technical manner to other areas of the business

Beneficial skills:

  • Java
  • Experience working with SCRUM / Agile and Atlassian products

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and skills. We offer a Company pension scheme, employee assistance scheme, free parking, free hot/cold drinks and various team events throughout the year.

Job Type: This role is full time. After an initial period of time to learn the software and associated products, the successful candidate could work remotely for a large proportion of the time if that was preferred.
